WELCOME TO THE WHEATSHEAF
The Wheatsheaf At Brigsteer was built in 1762 and was originally 3 cottages and a shoeing room for horses, it then became an ale house in the late 1800's and has been an integral part of this tiny Lakeland hamlet ever since.
The pub was a focal point for the local hunt for many years but today is fast building a reputation for expertly prepared food, Specialising in traditional British food with a modern twist. We strive to utilise the regions finest produce and ingredients including game & meats with complete tracability and grow some vegetables, fruit & herbs ourselves.
The Wheatsheaf holds an AA rosette for culinary excellence
Recommended in the Michelin 'Red guide' & the Michelin 'Eating out in pubs guide'. 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
We offer a set 2 course Lunch menu, a traditional pub-style Bar menu and a restaurant style Dinner menu to choose from.
After a recent major refurbishment the Wheatsheaf now has much more of a contemporary restaurant feel with polished oak and stone floors, handcrafted solid oak tables and chairs, linen napkins, polished cutlery and gleaming wine glasses.
